CRM 2011 Rollup 12 (Polaris) Process Form Sub-Grid Limit

In a recent blog post of mine, I explained how the sub-grid limit for Rollup 12 has now been removed, and that all sub-grids on the form will load by default without the message ‘To load Account records, click here’ message appearing.

Unfortunately, while this limit has been removed for the classic forms, the limit remains for the new process forms. However instead of this limit being 4 like with pre-rollup 12 version of Dynamics CRM 2011, the limit is now 6. This means we can add up to 6 sub-grids to our process forms before users will be forced to click the link to load the records. Since JavaScript is not supported on process forms, we’re also not able to use the old method of force-loading the extra grids with JavaScript!

I guess 6 is still better than 4, but if you’re planning to add lots of sub-grids to your process forms then just keep in mind that any sub-grids after the first 6 won’t load by default (unless you use the classic forms instead).
