Importing a Solution into Dynamics CRM 2011

Paul Nieuwelaar, 04 August 2011

In this blog post I will be going through the steps required to import a Managed Solution into Dynamics CRM 2011. Solutions can be downloaded from the Dynamics Marketplace, or from our own Products Page.

For this example I will be importing our ‘mNumbering’ solution into Dynamics CRM 2011. Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

• mNumbering Solution Package (in .zip format)
• Product/Licence Key supplied by Magnetism
• System Customizer Security Role

To import the Managed Solution, navigate to Settings, Solutions, and then click Import from the toolbar.

Click ‘Browse’ to select the solution package, and then click Next.

Once the Solution package has uploaded, click Next.

If required, tick the box to ‘Activate any processes and SDK messages’, and then click Next.

The solution will begin importing. Once the solution has successfully imported, click Close and then refresh your browser for any sitemap customizations to update.

You will now be able to begin using the solution. If at any point you wish to uninstall a managed solution you can click the ‘Delete’ button from the Solutions toolbar and it will be completely removed from your system.
