Automatically Calculate Tax in Dynamics CRM 2011

How many times have you been filling out an invoice in Dynamics CRM 2011, and have needed to use a calculator to work out the tax on each line item? You may have needed to do this several times in a day, wasting you and your business precious time and money. We here at Magnetism have noticed this timely inconvenience, so we have developed a solution, “mTax”, which automatically calculates the tax for you on any quote, order, invoice, or opportunity product you desire.

Like our Dynamics CRM 4.0 mTax solution, not only does it save you time by not needing to worry about calculating the tax, but it also gives you the ability to change the Tax amount with an easy to use configuration entity, instead of needing to modify any code.

Within the configuration entity you also have the ability to set the fields required for the calculation, such as the entity name, amount field, and tax field. This means you can apply the tax rules to any entity you desire, simply by setting the correct fields in the configuration. This also means if you have custom fields on your invoice product form, you can simply set the new field name with no problems.

With the new ‘No Tax’ feature you can create a new ‘Two Option’ (bit) field on any entity mTax is running on, and then set the field name in the configuration so that if that field is checked, then the tax rules are ignored, and no tax is applied. This is great for when you have an invoice that you want excluding tax, simply tick the box and no tax is applied.
