Sales Process in Dynamics CRM 2011: Orders

In my previous blog post I have described how can we create and add Products to a Quote in Dynamics CRM 2011. In this blog post I will describe how to create, fulfill, cancel and invoice Orders in Dynamics CRM 2011.

We can create an Order when our Quote is accepted and customer is ready to make a purchase. An Order in Dynamics CRM 2011 can be created with in a Quote, to create an order Click on Create Order button on the ribbon menu.

You can also navigate to Sales > Orders and Click on New on the ribbon menu to create a new order. Enter all required details such as Name, Customer, Currency, Price List and Click on Save. Current pricing or Prices locked can be used in an order.

To add products to an Order click on Get Products on the ribbon menu and choose products from an existing opportunity.

You can also add Write in products or Existing products to an Order. To do this click on the Products section of an Order and click on Add New Product Order. Enter all required details and Click on Save and Close.

To return to the main order form Click on General and Click on Recalculate button on the ribbon menu to calculate the total amount for this Order.

You can enter the bill to and/ or ship to address automatically from an existing address by click on Loop Up Address button on the ribbon menu.

An order has three different status options: Active, Fulfilled and Cancelled.  An active order can be edited, cancelled and deleted.

An order can be fulfilled, cancelled and invoiced. To fulfill an Order, click on Fulfill order button on the ribbon menu and provide fulfillment information for this order. You can choose the Status Reason to be Complete or Partial.

To cancel an order, click on Cancel order button on the ribbon menu and provide cancellation information for this order.

To create an Invoice based on this Order, click on Create Invoice button on the ribbon menu. The status of this order will remain active until it is fulfilled.
