Install or Remove Sample Data in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

When we deploy a new organisation in Dynamics CRM 2011, the organisation does not have any data in it and if you want to play around with the system to get some hands on experience then first of all you need to enter some sample data into each record. Microsoft has made it easy for you as you can install sample data to your system with the help of few clicks and you can delete the sample data when it is not required.

To add sample data to your CRM system you can follow the below steps:

Click on ‘Settings’ > Click on ‘System’ > Click on ‘Data Management’ > Click on ‘Sample Data’.

The following sample data screen will populate. Click on ‘Install Sample Data’.

The system will start installing the sample data in the background and while this sample data is installed in the system, you can continue to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Click on ‘Close’ once the installation is finished.

You need to refresh your Dynamics CRM page and then you will be able to see the sample data loaded into Dynamics CRM.

If you want to delete this sample data from your Dynamics CRM system you can do that by simply Clicking on ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Data Administration’ > ‘Sample Data’.

Below pasted screen will populate, you need to click on ‘Remove Sample Data’ and Sample Data will be removed from your system. Click on ‘Close’ button once the Dynamics CRM system finishes removing the sample data from your system.
