Manjula Chetty, 10 July 2014

In this blog I will describe how to find various entities belonging to the same business unit and also saving the query as a view so that it can be accessed later when needed.

Custom Query Formation

If you want to find the Quotes belonging to the same business unit, you can go to Advanced Find and search for Quotes and select view as New. In the next column Scroll down to Related section and select Owning Business Unit.

All the fields related to the Business Unit will be displayed in the next row. Select Business Unit equals Current Business Unit so we can find all the quotes belonging to the business unit as the current user. Click on Results and you will see all the quotes which are created by users who belong to the business unit as current user.

Saving the Query as a View

This section describes how to save the query.

  •  Click on Save As in Advanced Find
  •  Save As popup will be displayed
  •  Enter the Name and Description
  •  Click on Save

The query will be saved in:

  •  Use Saved View section under “My Views” and
  •  Saved Views

Whenever you want to run the same query you can select Quotes in Look for field and the Saved View, it will give you same results as the query.

Finding Quotes from users who do not belong to same business Unit

Similarly you can find all the quotes which do not belong to the business unit as of the current user by just changing the Query for Business Unit from Equals to Not Equals and in the results tab you will be able to see all the Quotes which are created by users who do not belong to the same Business Unit.
