Since writing a previous blog on setting up a Microsoft Dynamics CRM trial some things have changed!
This blog provides updated information on creating a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online trial, converting the trial to a Paid Subscription and applying for Non-Profit Charity Pricing. Eligible non-profit charitable organisations can get a $12.80 NZD instead of $56.30 NZD per user/month subscription rate for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.
1. If you already have an Office 365 account you may first logon to that account from the https://portal.microsoftonline.com logon page. When you then complete the following steps you will be prompted to either add the trial to your account or sign up for a new account:http://crm.dynamics.com/en-nz/home
http://crm.dynamics.com/en-nz/trial-overview
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics/crm-free-trial-overview.aspx
5. Complete the ‘create your user ID’ information.
• Note: The domain portion of the User ID will default to the Organisation name. You may change the domain portion of the User ID if desired.
6. Review your contact preferences:
7. Click ‘create my account’.
8. Complete the ‘Don’t lose access to your account’ information and click ‘save and continue’.
9. The ‘Office 365 admin center’ page will be displayed.
10. Select ‘CRM’ from the top-right-hand area of the Office 365 title bar.
11. The ‘Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online settings’ page will now be displayed. You may review and change the settings for Friendly Name, Instance URL and Purpose and then click ‘continue’.
• The Friendly Name is the name of your trial Organisation as it will appear in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
• The Instance URL is the web address you will use to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Note: The URL must always end in crm5.dynamics.com.
• The Purpose is a description that you may provide to indicate the purpose of this Microsoft Dynamics CRM Organisation. This is useful if you are configuring more than one Microsoft Dynamics CRM Organisation under the same Microsoft Office 365 account; e.g. Trial, Development, Test, Training, Live etc.• The ‘Please select your base currency’ page will be displayed. The base currency defaults to that for the Country selected on the initial ‘setup your account form’. If this is not the currency you want to use as the base currency in your Microsoft Dynamics CRM Organisation you may change it here by clicking ‘Change currency’. Note: The base currency cannot be changed afterwards.
14. A ‘Launch CRM Online’ button will then be displayed. Click ‘Launch CRM Online’.
15. You will now be redirected to your Microsoft Dynamics CRM Organisation.
• Configure Personal Options
• Configure System Settings
• Configure Web Browser
• Install and configure the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Client
• Add and configure additional users. Note: If adding additional users you should also configure their Personal Options, Web Browser and optionally install and configure the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook Client for each user.
At any time you may convert your Microsoft Dynamics CRM trial to a Paid Subscription by either navigating to Settings, Administration, Subscription Management from within Microsoft Dynamics CRM or by logging into http://portal.microsoftonline.com. Then from the ‘Office 365 admin center’ complete the following steps:
1. Select ‘licensing’ from the left-hand side navigation pane to display the ‘subscriptions’ list.2. From the ‘subscriptions’ list click the ‘Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Trial’ hyperlink to display the ‘subscription details’ page.
If you are a non-profit organisation you may also apply for non-profit charitable organisation pricing, (e.g. currently $12.80 per user/month NZD), by downloading and reviewing the eligibility requirements and then completing and submitting the online application form.
