Introduction to Magnetism – My First Week

Colin Maitland, 25 May 2012

Introduction to Magnetism My First WeekLast week (7th to 11th May) was my first week at Magnetism in my new role as Magnetism’s Solutions Architect. I  have brought to the Magnetism team my thirteen years, (three years in Microsoft Dynamics CRM), of CRM experience as a former Business Solutions Consultant involved in CRM and related analysis, design, development, support and training for a range of private, corporate and government agency organisation customers. I have seen CRM implemented and extended in many ways for uses in the Banking, Education, Health, Insurance Adjusting, Recruitment, Telecommunications Resale, Tourism and Sales sectors to name a few.

Magnetism has a great customer focused team of people specialising in Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementations. They have a huge amount of experience, skill and dedication. I am very pleased to join their team for the purpose of expanding them and them expanding me. One of my reasons for choosing Magnetism was to continue working for a team oriented and customer focused Microsoft Dynamics CRM Business Partner. Another reason for my choosing Magnetism was because of the methodologies and technologies that they use for implementing Microsoft Dynamics CRM. I have identified that they are at the top of game in these areas. My first experience with the Magnetism team was when I participated in the same Microsoft provided Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step Methodology training course a couple of years ago.

Two of my initial tasks in this first week have been to:

(a) Manage the design and development of a new Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation using one of the Magnetism Starter Packs. In my blog next week I will be providing an overview of the Magnetism Starter Packs method of deploying Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011.

(b) Sit and pass a Microsoft Dynamics CRM certification exam. The exam I sat was MB2-866 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Customisation and Configuration. This week I will be completing the two‑day Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Installation and Deployment Course run by Magnetism in preparation for the MB2-867 Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Installation and Deployment exam. To find out more about this course and other courses check out the Magnetism Events Calendar and/or contact Magnetism.
