Ever wondered what version of CRM you were using? Or what Rollup your CRM is currently on? If for any reason you need to update your current version of CRM to the latest rollup, but you don’t know what rollup you’re currently on, instead of downloading and installing every rollup from 1 to 10, just to make sure you didn’t miss any important updates, you can save yourself a lot of time by just checking what version of CRM you’re on, and what the latest rollup that has been installed is. Then you only need to download and install the rollups necessary.
There are actually a few simple ways to check what version of CRM you’re on, and what the latest rollup is. If you have CRM for Office Outlook installed, you can do one of the following to check what version of CRM you are using:
The numbers in the brackets that comes after the CRM version is the build number; this tells you what rollup your CRM is currently on. If you don’t have CRM for outlook, you can check the build number by going through CRM as well. In CRM click the ‘Help’ dropdown, and select ‘About Microsoft Dynamics CRM’ to get to the same view.
If your version of CRM is not currently at rollup 7 or above, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade to at least rollup 7, as rollup 7 contains changes to the outlook client functionality and synchronization, and support for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
